For the first time since 2007, the Centennial Knights basketball team is back in the Final Four. The Knights hit the road on Wednesday to travel outside Augusta to play Evans High School in a small, hostile environment. They jumped out to a fast lead and never relented, eventually winning 81-68. The Knights will take on the Wheeler Wildcats, the #2 seed from Region 6 and the #1 ranked team in AAAAAA. The Knights are also a #2 seed, and the Knights won a universal coin flip, earning the privilege of hosting the game. The Knights and Wildcats will battle on Saturday at 7pm in front of a limited capacity crowd at The Roundtable. The game will be broadcast on the NFHS Network.
For the playoffs, Fulton County has adjusted the capacity rules for indoor events. The current guidance for our home events (and all events in Fulton County) will be to allow two family members per athlete to purchase tickets and attend games. In addition to family members, there will be another link with 40 additional tickets for students from each school. Once the game is sold out, we will not be able to let anyone else purchase. All entry will be at the gym lobby entrance, off the stadium parking lot. Tickets purchased by non-family members will not be valid for admission.
GHSA passes and official media credentials are the only passes that will be accepted at the gate.
