SwimSwam.com has just announced its top recruits for the class of 2022, and one of our own Centennial Knights was recognized in the top 20 of Sophomore male swimmers in the nation. Sebastien Sergile was ranked #13 in the country amongst a field of stand-out swimmers over varying distances and events. This is the second swimming service to rank Sergile as a Top 20 recruit (Collegeswimming.com currently ranks him as the #19 overall recruit in the country).
Sergile has two more years to build on the extraordinary success he’s demonstrated through club swimming and at the State High School level, most recently with his 2nd place finishes in the 200-yard (All American Consideration) and 500-yard (All American Consideration and School Record) freestyle events at this year’s Georgia High School State Championships. Who knows how much further Sergile will be able to rise among this field of blue-chip swimming recruits if he continues the trajectory he’s been following over his freshman and sophomore seasons.
This list of top swimmers is what many Division I swimming programs and coaches will be referencing to supplement their research on potential swimming recruits that can have an impact on their teams starting in 2022. NCAA rules restrict contact with sophomores until June, but you can expect that most of the swimmers on this list will be receiving some calls from coaches this summer. As a Scholastic All-American in his freshman year, Sergile can offer more than just his swimming talents to any of the teams that might come calling.
We wish our Centennial swimmer Sebastien Sergile continued success, both with continued hard work in the classroom, and the pool! Go Knights!
