Knights News · Senior Night White Out

The end of the 2018-2019 winter sports season is drawing near and tonight the Centennial Knights athletic programs will celebrate the hard work and dedication of the senior athletes with a “White Out” at the basketball games against Johns Creek. The varsity girls game begins at 6 PM and the varsity boys game starts at 7:30 PM. The athletes from all winter sports will be recognized as they move into the end of season tournaments in their respective sports.

Next weekend, the Swim and Dive team will compete in the State Meet and both the girls and boys teams will look to finish in the top 10 in consecutive years after bringing home 3rd and 7th place finishes last season. The wrestling team will start their region tournament and look to take a few titles on Saturday as they attempt to qualify individual wrestlers for the Sectionals and State meet. Finally, the basketball Region Tournament will begin next week as the Knights wait to see who they will match up against and hope to finish in the top four to qualify for the State Tournament. This season all of our winter sports have seen success and their talents will be on display tonight!

Along with the Senior Night ceremonies that recognize the 2019 class, the newly hired football coach at Centennial, Shane Sams, will be visiting to meet the community and spend time with the players on the football team. Coach Sams was recently hired to replace Coach Michael Perry who left to be the Head Coach at East Hall. Sams hails from Warner Robins where he spent time as the Offensive Coordinator and led a high powered offense to numerous records and consecutive AAAAA state final appearances. Tonight is going to be one that you don’t want to miss so be sure to come out and support our Centennial athletes as they close out their season against Johns Creek!
