Coed Varsity Swimming & Dive · Freshman Sergile breaks out and Girls finish 3rd at Fulton Championships

Freshman Sebastien Sergile continued his impressive Freshman season sweeping his two individual events with golds in both the 200 and 500 freestyle.  Sergile was just ahead of Cambridge Junior Matthew Gaines in both events.

The girls flexed their strength in their usual way behind strong relay performances and Senior Captains Elly Deas (Gold in both 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke) and Tessa Sergile (2nd in 200 IM and 3rd in 100 Butterfly).  Deas broke the Fulton County meet record in the 100 Backstroke.  The girls won both the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay and finished 6th in the 200 freestyle relay.

Overall, the Knights got four new state cuts.  Camden Bowers qualified in the dive portion and the boys relay team of M Bender, Yearout, Saunders, and Goodsite qualified in the 200 freestyle relay.   On the girls side, Venla Harkonen qualified in the 200 freestyle while Anna Teodorescu qualified in the 100 breaststroke.  Additionally, the Knights improved 16 seed times for state by swimming best times.
