Boys Varsity Football · Rivalry Renewed as Knights Face Roswell

The start of the Centennial Knights 2018 football season began two weeks ago as the team opened the season with a non-region game against Northside-Warner Robins at the Fortress. While the Centennial Knights fought hard and kept the game close throughout the first half of the game, they came out on the losing end as the final whistle blew and the scoreboard showed a score of 38-14. After an early bye in week two, the Knights are looking to earn their first win against another non-region opponent as they face their crosstown rivals at Roswell High School.

Roswell High School opened up their first game of the season by defeating Campbell with a final score of 42-14. Roswell is led by their defense and specifically by linebacker and Florida commit, Tyron Hooper. On offense, the Hornets are solid up front and led by Trey Zimmerman who is considered one of the top prospects in the state at his position in the class of 2020. Heading into the matchup, it looks to be a game that will see the high scoring offense from Centennial meet a stout defense from Roswell High. Max Brosmer will be looking to get the ball to the playmakers on the Knight offense that include players like senior Cal Dickie and sophomore Julian Nixon. This is the first time in three years that the teams have been scheduled to play and the proximity between the two schools will certainly create an atmosphere you won’t want to miss!

The game will be played this Friday, August 31st at 7:30 in Ray Maynus Stadium at Roswell High School.
