Aaron Turk was recognized with the “Top Male Performance of the Meet” award as the Boys Track team captured back-to-back Region Championships. Turk was 1st in the Triple Jump (setting a new school record mark at 44-02.5), 1st in the 100m with 11.06, anchored the 4×100 Relay team to a 1st place finish along with Greg Cook, Torre Hutchins and Jordan Gillespie, was 4th in the 200m with a 22.98, and ran on the 6th place 4×400 Relay team that help secured the region title. With the exception of the 4×400 Relay, Turk qualified for Sectionals in all of these events.
Turk’s achievement made this the third year in a row a Centennial athlete has won this recognition as current Barton College standout Alex Richemond captured the distinction in 2013 and 2014. Turk, a Morehead State commit in both football and baseball, will next lead the Knights at the State qualifying Sectional Meet on May 2nd at McEachern High School.
