Knights Roll Against Cambridge

For the second week in a row, Centennial overcame a 2nd half deficit to win a game. Last Friday night, the Knights beat the Cambridge Bears 34-21 after being down 21-17 at the break. Centennial jumped out to a 10-0 lead on a Brosmer rushing TD and a Solomon FG, but turnovers led to a pair of Bears touchdowns. The Knights quickly regained the lead on a 67 yd TD pass from Brosmer to Dickie, but the Bears would regain the lead just before halftime.

The 2nd half belonged to the Knights defense. Centennial took the lead on a Julian Nixon TD in the 3rd quarter and never looked back. The defense stepped up and shut down the Bears rushing attack, leading them to continuously try and beat Centennial’s secondary in the air. The offense sealed the win with a field goal and finally another Nixon TD to close out the scoring at 34-21. The Bears wouldn’t quit and looked to tack on 1 more score but the defense held again, stopping Cambridge on 4th down to close it out.

The Knights are back in action at home this Friday. They will take on Chattahoochee, winners of 4 straight and 3-0 in Region play. The Knights beat the Cougars last year 32-14 and hold an 8-7 series lead in one of the Knights oldest rivalries. Kickoff is 7:30 and pre-sale tickets can be found online through GoFan
