Football Families and Community,

It is with a great deal of excitement and enthusiasm to introduce our new Head Football Coach, Michael Perry.  A native of Gainesville, Georgia, Perry is a 2006 graduate from the University of Georgia with a Master’s degree from North Georgia College and State University and a Specialist’s degree from Piedmont College. In his 11 years of varsity football experience, he has been a part of 33 total playoff games, 5 Region championships, 7 state quarterfinal appearances, 4 state semi-final appearances and 2 state final games.  He served as Gainesville’s OC/Qb coach from 2011-2015 where he helped Gainesville win its first and only state title. While serving as Coffee High School’s OC/QB coach this previous year, he helped Coffee reach the state quarterfinals for the first time since 2008.

Since becoming an offensive coordinator, every one of his quarterbacks received first team All-Region as well as All-State accolades for 6 years in a row.  His offenses averaged 42 points a game in his five years as OC for Gainesville and averaged 32 points per game playing in the second most difficult schedule in Georgia according to MaxPreps. Coach Perry also coached the GHSA All Time leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns, Deshaun Watson, while at Gainesville.  The year after Watson graduated, another Perry coached QB, Mikey Gonzalez, led the state of Georgia in touchdown passes.

Coach Perry is bringing a unique blend of organization, personality and winning experience to Centennial High School. We believe he will take our program to a Championship caliber over the coming years, working with the current coaching staff and bringing in strong individuals to lead our boys to become successful on and off the football field.

Coach Perry will be at Centennial tomorrow to meet the boys at 9:30 in the weight room and we will be scheduling a parent night to meet the coach and register for the Fall 2017 season very soon.

GO KNIGHTS!!
